A couple years ago, I really wasn't into "fantasy" or "kiddie" like clothing...a cartoon drawing plastered across my chest? No way! But as you can see , I am now singing a different tune. Here I am, live in the flesh, rocking a Rugrats across my chest! Nothing says confidence like a grown woman over 30 who can pull this $%*@ off. You see, life nowadays has to require some sort of playfulness. Times are so tense right now ( especially in America) the best way for me to release some tension is to do so through fashion. It's amazing how your personal taste in clothing changes over time or through environmental experiences. I guess it just determines what kind of person you are. Some people have a very specific fashion style and they stick to it, no matter what. No matter what's going on around them i.e like Steve Jobs. Black turtle neck , blue jeans and simple tennis shoes made him a happy man. Then on the other hand you have me. My taste evolves and is constantly changing . I happen to luck up on this rare Rugrats hoodie ( est. 1990) while thrift shopping in Berkeley. It makes me feel kinda like a kid again. A time when the only thing I really had to worry about was finishing my times table homework and coloring within the lines. I know I can't rewind time and go back to Mrs. West's 4th grade class , but at least I can get that nostalgic feeling by simply dressing the part.
