My sister and I are really close. She may be the eldest, but whenever she goes on a date I worry, when she travels far I make her call me to make sure she landed ok, and if someone messes with her, they mess with me! That's just the way we were raised. Recently my sis went on a two week vacation to Singapore and I can't lie, I worried a little bit. If it wasn't for me checking her instagram page and seeing how much fun she was having, I think I would have been a bit uneasy those whole two weeks she was gone. But before I could blink an eye those 2 weeks flew by. She threw me a text that she landed at SFO safe with a airplane emoji. I was whole again. The person who has seen the many sides of me, who knew me best, my other half was back and I couldn't wait to hear all about her amazing trip!
We had a picnic; cherries, grapes, some delicious bar-b-que flavored seaweed she brought back from her trip and juice. It felt good to see her smile, laugh and tell her amazing stories of riding an elephant, all the exotic foods she tried and the culture. Three hours later, we decided to wrap up our sisterly connection when she pulled out a small bag out of her backpack " I almost forgot!" she said with a big smile " I saw this while shopping at the mall in Singapore...I knew I HAD to get it for you! There was no way I could leave that store without getting it for you. It reminded me of something you would rock!"
I peeled back the fancy rice paper wrapped around the gift and there it was, the cutest multi-colored snake skinned clutch I ever seen! I knew immediately what I would wear it with. I paired the tiny purse with a pair of diamond shaped Palazzo pants, a mid-length two toned coat, and a simple white tee. While she was driving away she rolled down her window and yelled “ You better rock that purse in your fashion blog!” while pointing a finger at me. Then she sped off . So this post is for my sister…thank you for knowing me so well, thank you for being so brave and traveling the world, and thank you for such a dope gift!
