"Take the high road" they tell you...don't let anyone throw you off your game. If someone wrongs you, seeking revenge will only set you back and slow down your momentum of moving forward in life. Well...sometimes that's easier said than done! I have to admit, this past weekend, I had been wronged! I was in pain and felt so betray and disgusted I had to do something a little different . I had to switch things up and take a break-from discounted shoes! I take great pride in showing you guys all my cool and affordable finds, so I felt like I was betraying my following a bit, but sometimes you have to take the High (fashion ) Road. A couple of days ago, I was on cloud nine because I found a pair of CUTE shoes that was cheaply priced! Ha! "What a steal!" l I thought, and if anyone knows me they know I LIVE for a good deal! I mean, who doesn't?!
For some reason, this deal seemed too good to be true (I should have followed my first mind!). I made my way to the check out counter and asked the cashier what was wrong with the cute heels, I mean, something has to be wrong with them if there cute, cheap and no one has snatched them up yet, right? She looked at me and said, "Ummm...nothing is wrong with them, I guess you just have wonderful timing!" So I tried those puppies on...walked around a bit...did my best runway walk impression in the mirror....the shoes felt fine. Besides, I was running late. I was on my way to have lunch with a long time friend in the city. I didn't spend much time on deciding if they passed the comfort test of not. But if there was one thing that I DID know, it was that they were HOT and went with what I was wearing at that moment. I paid for them, slapped them on my feet and was out the door in a flash.
Halfway into my stroll I began to feel a throbbing pain on the side and back of my right heel! Ouch! I had to continue on so I trudged though the streets of San Francisco. Two blocks later I noticed the same pain, but this time it was on the LEFT foot! Double whammy! These evil ( yet -oh- so cute!) heels refused to play nice! Better yet, they were trying their best to throw me off my game, ruin my day and take my toes down with them! However, I pulled a Dikembe Mutombo and whispered to myself "No,no,no...not today!" I snatched those suckers off with the quickness and threw on my original pair of heels I had stashed in my bag. Ahhhh finally ...comfort! Sometimes guys, you have to take the high fashion road. It may make you wallet a little ( or much depending on the name brand) lighter, but your feet, back, and knees will definitely thank you for it. Sometimes you have to splurge and get the good stuff. After that hellish fiasco with the "discounted demons" two days later I ran across these Cognac silver & gold open toe embellished Tory Burch heels and couldn't be happier about my awesome find! And guess what....they were 50 percent off!! MAJOR SCORE! When I tell you these babies are comfortable, I REALLY mean it! The instant I put them on, I could tell they were made with nothing but the best material. I walked around all day and not once had to take a seat or adjust these heels. They are my new favorites! Have you ever had to kick a pair of dope (and affordable) kicks to the curb because they were way too uncomfortable? Let me know below. I would love to hear your stories!
