Our streets aren't busting out of the seams with people like New York City. We don't have exotic cars occupying every curbside like Miami. We don't have killer architecture like Chicago nor famous actors nonchalantly wandering into Starbucks to order their Cinnamon dolce Latte like in Los Angeles. Welcome to the Bay Area ( which I feel like is the grey area sometimes) where we're neither "this" nor "that" but a little bit of everything! It's hard to figure this place out. We have Oakland on one end , which gives the Bay it's gritty urban flavor. From late night side shows in the East, to the beautiful serene views of Lake Merritt, Oakland is the mecca of "Cool" .
Then there's Berkeley, where liberals and brainiac college students go to live life in peace in harmony together ( literally). From the craziness of Telegraph Avenue to the infamous Cal Berkeley College, Berkeley is definitely hippie haven. If you want the feeling of sheer freedom to be 100% you, Berkeley is the spot. Oh, and let's not forget Sillicon Valley ( San jose, Mountain View, Palo Alto areas) A home to hundreds of start-up and global technology companies, with Google, Apple and Facebook among the most prominent. Silicon Valley has the highest average high-tech salary at $144,800. Mostly a result of the high technology sector, the San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, CA Metropolitan area has the most millionaires and the most billionaires in the United States per capita. Can we say ballin'!
Last but definitely not least, where do we go when we want to feel like the Elite? San Francisco (of course!) From shopping at Gucci and Tiffany's, partying at the poshest night clubs to eating at the best restaurants the world has to offer, there's a reason why there's a song titled " I left my heart in San Francisco!"
Ahhhhhhh...the good ol' Bay Area, the melting pot of pretty much...everything! I like to attribute my style of dress to the orders of this madness. Where anything goes and you just go with the flow. Today I felt really laid back, so I spiced up a simple white tank top, two toned sweats and chunky heels; needless to say everything fit together nicely! I truly believe that where you're from defiantly has an impact on the way you dress. When it comes to my attire, sometimes I'm all the way Oakland on the top, Berkeley when it comes to shoes and San Francisco when it comes to the accessories. Then the next day I will totally switch that order up. Now, only if I could make my wallet more like Sillicon valley, I will be the most happiest girl in the world! In five short words; There's. no. place. like. home!
Pro-Tip: If you enjoy the comfort of sweat pants and you have narrow hips ( like me) sweat pants are a great choice of bottoms to rock this Summer! The drawstring effect on the sweatpants gives your hips shape. They are also tapered at the bottom, so that gives thin girls a more flattering lower bottom look. Just remember to dress the sweats with high heels and some accessories! You want to remain looking feminine, so make sure you throw on those chunky heels and big earrings! So tell me, how do you dress up your simple tank top? Sound off in the comment section below!
